Ingredients
  

For the Sausage Filling

  • 8 pieces Richmond sausages These sausages have the right blend of spices and flavors.
  • 1 medium Chopped raw onion Adds sweetness and crunch; substitute with your preferred onion.

For the Pastry

  • 1 pack Shop-bought puff pastry Key for achieving a flaky texture.

For Assembly

  • 1 large Beaten egg Used for egg wash to create a golden top.

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 160°C (320°F).
  • Open the pack of Richmond sausages and squeeze the sausage meat out of the casings, rolling it into longer shapes.
  • Sprinkle chopped raw onion over the rolled sausage meat.
  • Take the puff pastry, roll it out, and wrap the sausage meat completely, sealing the edges.
  • Brush the wrapped pastry with the beaten egg.

Cooking

  • Place the wrapped sausage rolls in the air fryer basket and cook at 160°C for about 30 minutes.
  • Check after 20 minutes for doneness; for a crispier finish, increase the temperature to 180°C for the last few minutes.

Cooling

  • Once golden, remove from the air fryer and let cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

For crispy texture, lightly spray the pastry with cooking oil before air frying. Experiment with different fillings like cheese or herbs for added flavor.
