  • 12-15 large Mushrooms
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 small Onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Gently clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt.
  • Carefully pop the stems out of the mushroom caps and chop them up for stuffing.

Cooking the Filling

  • In a medium skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat. Break it into smaller pieces as it cooks until browned (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Add the finely chopped onions and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onions are translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cooled sausage mixture with softened cream cheese and Parmesan cheese.

Stuffing and Baking

  • Use a small spoon to generously stuff the mushroom caps with the sausage and cheese mixture.
  • Place stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for about 15-20 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are bubbly and slightly golden.

  • Let the mushrooms cool for a minute before serving.
