  • 8 ounces Cream cheese Binds the mixture together.

  • 1/2 cup Fontina cheese, grated For meltiness; mozzarella can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun spice Adjust quantity to taste.

Base

  • 8 slices Bread (for toasting) French bread or any crusty bread works best.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine chopped shrimp, onion, celery, garlic, cream cheese, Parmesan, Fontina, and Cajun spice.
  • Using a fork or spatula, gently mix ingredients without mashing the shrimp too much.
  • Generously spread the shrimp mixture onto the slices of bread.

Cooking

  • Place the shrimp toasts on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let them cool for a minute or two before serving warm.

Notes

Fresh herbs like parsley or dill can enhance flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days; reheat in the oven until warmed through.
