Ingredients
  

For the shrimp mixture

  • 1 lb Shrimp, chopped Make sure to chop the shrimp finely.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Adjust the amount to taste.
  • 2 stalks Green onions, chopped Adjust the amount to taste.
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 large Egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil

For the toast

  • 4 slices French bread or toast Day-old bread works best.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix chopped shrimp, minced garlic, green onions, soy sauce, egg, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and sesame oil.
  • Spread the shrimp mixture on slices of French bread or toast.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the toast slices, shrimp-side down, until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Flip and cook for another minute.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve warm.

Notes

Serve shrimp toasts warm as an appetizer or snack. Pair with a dipping sauce such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator; best enjoyed within 1-2 days. To reheat, warm in a frying pan.
