  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Adds depth and a hint of umami.

Instructions

Cooking Steps

  • Heat up your skillet by pouring in a good drizzle of olive oil and heating it over medium-high heat.
  • Once the oil is shimmering, add sliced onions and bell peppers. Season with salt and pepper and sauté until tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Push the veggies to one side of the pan to make space for the sliced ribeye beef.
  • Add the sliced ribeye to the other side of the pan, sprinkle with more salt and Worcestershire sauce, and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Mix the sautéed veggies back into the skillet with the ribeye until combined.
  • Lay slices of provolone cheese over the beef and veggie mixture. Cover the pan for a couple of minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
  • Slice the hoagie rolls open without cutting all the way through, allowing them to cradle the filling.
  • Spoon the cheesy beef and veggie mixture onto the rolls, heaping high for every bite.
  • For extra crispiness, place the assembled sandwiches under the broiler for a minute until golden brown.

Notes

Don't rush the veggies for better flavor. Use fresh ribeye for the best results. Don't skip the cheese for optimal melting. Serve with sides like salad, fries, or coleslaw.
