Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 1 pound smoked brisket, shredded Ensure the brisket is well-shredded for easy filling.
  • 1 cup beer cheese dip Can substitute with any creamy cheese dip.

Dough and Bath

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough Frozen biscuit dough can be used; just thaw completely.
  • 1/4 cup baking soda This helps create the pretzel-like texture.
  • 2 cups warm water
  • coarse salt For topping.
  • melted butter For brushing before serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded smoked brisket and beer cheese dip.
  • Roll out each biscuit on a floured surface. Place a spoonful of the brisket and cheese mixture in the center of each dough round.
  • Wrap the dough around the filling, pinching the seams to seal and forming into a ball.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the baking soda with warm water until dissolved.
  • Dip each filled dough ball into the baking soda mixture, then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle the tops with coarse salt.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter before serving.

Notes

Serve warm as an appetizer or snack. Pairs well with beer or dipping sauces. To store leftovers, place in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes.
