Ingredients
  

For the patties

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon beef base
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 slices white bread for serving
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the ground beef, eggs, minced onion, beef base, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined.
  • Form the mixture into patties, making sure they are of equal size for even cooking.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the patties. Cook the patties until they are browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  • If you want gravy, remove the patties and prepare it in the same skillet using the drippings to enhance the flavor.

Serving

  • Serve the patties smothered with the gravy and warm slices of bread on the side.

Notes

Consider adding garlic powder or Worcestershire sauce for more flavor. Don’t overcook the patties to keep them juicy. Adding chopped mushrooms or bell peppers to the gravy can enhance its flavor and texture. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
