Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough

  • 2 3/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Cream of tartar Essential for texture and flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter (softened) Make sure it’s at room temperature.
  • 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 large Eggs Should be at room temperature.
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract

Cinnamon-Sugar Coating

  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare Your Baking Sheets: Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

Making the Dough

  • Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a larger bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add the vanilla extract.
  • Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and use a spatula to fold until just combined.

Rolling and Baking

  • Prepare Cinnamon-Sugar Coating: In a separate bowl, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  • Roll the Dough: Scoop out about a tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Place on Baking Sheets: Place the dough balls on prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  • Bake to Perfection: Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes until set but still soft in the middle.

Cooling and Serving

  • Cool on the Sheet: Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
