Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh grated ginger Adds a burst of flavor.

For Rolling

  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar (for rolling) For a sparkling finish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Beat in the egg and fresh grated ginger until combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, mixing just until combined.

Baking

  • Scoop out about a tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball, then roll each ball in the granulated sugar.
  • Place the sugar-coated dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For perfect results, ensure butter is at room temperature and keep a close eye on the cookies as they bake.
