  • 1/2 cup Feta cheese Crumble the feta cheese for easy layering.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter or olive oil Butter gives a richer flavor, while olive oil is a healthier option.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to your preference.

Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Spread butter or brush olive oil on one side of each pita.
  • On the unbuttered side, layer fresh spinach and crumbled feta cheese.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Top with another pita, buttered side facing out.

Cooking

  • Cook in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serving

  • Remove from the skillet, let cool slightly, then cut in halves or quarters to serve.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm. Serve with a side of soup or salad for a complete meal. For leftovers, cool completely, wrap, and store in the refrigerator. Reheat before serving. Experiment with different breads and add any other desired ingredients for extra flavor.
