Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb cheese tortellini
  • 8 oz sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces Can be substituted with grilled chicken or shrimp.
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (baby bella or white) Additional vegetables like spinach or broccoli can be added.

Alfredo Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter Use unsalted for better control over saltiness.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a lighter option, substitute with half-and-half.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Using freshly grated cheese is recommended.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For searing the steak.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Adds a bright touch.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Once done, drain and set aside.
  • Season the steak with salt and pepper. In a hot skillet with olive oil, sear the steak until browned and medium-rare. Remove and set aside.

Cooking

  • In the same skillet, sauté the mushrooms until they are browned and tender.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  • Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese and black pepper until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Toss the cooked tortellini with the Alfredo sauce until well coated.

Serving

  • Plate the tortellini and top with the seared steak and sautéed mushrooms. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with a splash of milk or cream to restore creaminess. For extra flavor, consider marinating the steak before cooking and ensuring the tortellini is al dente.
