Cookie Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened Make sure it is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Ensure it is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries Fresh strawberries are recommended for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For dusting, optional.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet.

Baking

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow to cool and dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or freeze them for up to three months. Optional variations include adding chocolate chips or nuts, or using blueberries or raspberries instead of strawberries.
