  • 1 cup cooked long-grain rice
  • 1.5 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1/3 cup chopped parsley
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 42 oz tomato sauce, divided
  • 1 medium head green cabbage

Seasoning

  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Dill (optional)
  • Chili flakes (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a bowl, mix the beef, rice, egg, onion, parsley, garlic, and your favorite seasonings.
  • Boil the cabbage to soften the leaves, then peel them off gently.
  • Fill each leaf with your meat mixture, roll them up, and place seam-side down in a baking dish.
  • Pour some tomato sauce mixed with a little water over the rolls and bake until bubbling.

Notes

Stuffed cabbage rolls are best served warm. Drizzle a little extra tomato sauce on top and sprinkle with fresh parsley or dill. They pair well with crusty bread or a side salad. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
