Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 3-4 lb chuck roast
  • 4 pieces carrots, chopped
  • 4 pieces potatoes, chopped
  • 1 piece onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Broth and Seasonings

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place the chopped vegetables in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Season the chuck roast with salt and pepper, then place it on top of the vegetables.
  • In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, ranch seasoning, and onion soup mix. Pour this mixture over the roast.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender and shreds easily.
  • Once cooked, remove the roast and let it rest for a few minutes before shredding. Serve with the veggies and gravy.

Notes

For added flavor, sear the chuck roast in a pan before placing it in the slow cooker. You can add other vegetables like celery or peas for extra nutrition. For a thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with water and stir it into the broth during the last hour of cooking. You can also switch up the seasonings with Italian dressing mix or taco seasoning.
