Ingredients
  

For the Steak

  • 2 pieces ribeye, filet mignon, or sirloin steaks (8-10 oz each) Choose your favorite cut.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For rubbing on the steaks.

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder For aromatic flavor.
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika Optional for a smoky flavor.

For the Shrimp

  • 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined Use large shrimp to prevent overcooking.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For coating the shrimp.

For the Sauce

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter For richness.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced More garlic equals more happiness!
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth Adds depth to the sauce.
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream For creaminess.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Adds brightness.
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley For freshness.

Preparation

  • Take the steaks out of the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking so they reach room temperature.
  • Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika if using.

Grilling the Steak

  • Heat up the grill or cast-iron skillet until sizzling.
  • Sear the steaks for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust time for desired doneness.
  • Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for about 5 minutes.

Preparing the Shrimp

  • In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Grill the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

Making the Sauce

  • Melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the dry white wine or chicken broth and let it simmer for about 2 minutes.
  • Add the heavy cream and lemon juice, stirring until combined. Season with salt, black pepper, and stir in chopped parsley.

Assembly and Serving

  • On a large plate, arrange the grilled steak and shrimp.
  • Drizzle the garlic butter sauce generously over everything.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or chives and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Always preheat your grill or skillet. Add different seasonings to the shrimp for variety. For a thicker sauce, let it simmer longer.
