Instructions
 

Sear the Pork

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add pork belly cubes in batches and sear until golden and crispy, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Remove the pork from the pan and set aside.

Create the Glaze

  • In the same skillet, lower the heat and add sesame oil.
  • Sauté minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, and pineapple chunks.
  • Simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Combine and Caramelize

  • Return the pork belly to the skillet and toss to coat in the glaze.
  • Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce.
  • If desired, stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken.

Garnish and Serve

  • Transfer to a serving platter and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
  • Serve warm over rice or alongside steamed vegetables.

Ensure the skillet is hot for crispy pork. Simmer sauce for flavor development. Consider substitutions with pork tenderloin for quicker cooking.
