Ingredients
  

Sweet Potato Mixture

  • 4 cups Sweet Potatoes, mashed
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 pieces Eggs, beaten

Pecan Topping

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans
  • 1/4 cup Softened Butter

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel and cook sweet potatoes until tender, then mash until smooth.
  • In a large bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and beaten eggs. Blend until creamy.
  • Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Topping

  • In another bowl, mix brown sugar, chopped pecans, and softened butter.
  • Sprinkle the pecan topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes until the topping is golden brown and bubbly.
  • Let the casserole cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using brown butter instead of regular melted butter. For a crispier topping, broil for a minute or two after baking.
