Pasta Ingredients

  • 8 oz 8 oz of pasta (penne, rotini, or any kind you prefer)
  • 1 lb 1 lb of ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet 1 packet of taco seasoning
  • 1 can 1 can of diced tomatoes (optional) Optional for added flavor
  • 1 cup 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • ½ cup ½ cup of chopped onions
  • 1 cup 1 cup of water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onions to the skillet and sauté until softened.

Cooking

  • Stir in the taco seasoning, diced tomatoes, and water. Bring to a simmer.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and mix until well combined.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and let it melt before serving.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

Taco Pasta is best served hot right from the skillet. You can top it with extra cheese, sour cream, or fresh herbs for added flavor. It pairs well with a side salad or some tortilla chips for crunch. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop.
