Ingredients
  

Main ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots Regular or extra crispy tater tots can be used.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Other soups like cream of chicken can be substituted.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar works well; can also use mozzarella or pepper jack.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional diced onions or bell peppers For added flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly in a baking dish.
  • Layer tater tots on top of the beef mixture.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over the tater tots.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, until the tater tots are golden brown and cheese is melted.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve hot with a salad or steamed vegetables. For extra flavor, top with chopped green onions or a dollop of sour cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Reheat in microwave or oven.
