Ingredients
  

Meatball Mixture

  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley Fresh herbs brighten the dish.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder For a wonderful savory taste.
  • 1 tsp onion powder For added depth of flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper Vital for flavor.

Gravy Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, sliced Adds sweetness and depth to the gravy.
  • 2 cups beef broth Enhances the dish’s richness.
  • 2 tbsp flour Helps thicken the gravy.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For frying the meatballs.

For Serving

  • Mashed potatoes or egg noodles They soak up the savory gravy wonderfully!

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Take a small handful of the mixture and roll into a ball about the size of a golf ball. Place them on a plate or clean surface.

Cooking Meatballs

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until hot.
  • Add the meatballs, brown them on all sides for about 8-10 minutes, then remove and set aside.

Making the Gravy

  • In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until soft and caramelized, about 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle flour over onions and stir to combine, then gradually pour in beef broth, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer.
  • Return the meatballs to the skillet and let them simmer in the gravy for about 20 minutes.

Serving

  • Serve over creamy mashed potatoes or egg noodles, letting the gravy pool around the meatballs.

Notes

For a healthier version, ground turkey or chicken can be used instead of beef. For extra flavor, consider adding Worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
