  • to taste salt and pepper Essential for flavor.

Gravy Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter For sautéing the meatballs.
  • 2 tbsp flour Thickens the gravy.
  • 2 cups beef broth Savory sauce base.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Adds richness to the gravy.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork, mixing well.
  • Add breadcrumbs, milk, finely chopped onion, egg, allspice, nutmeg, salt and pepper; mix gently until combined.
  • Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add meatballs in batches, cooking 5-7 minutes until browned.
  • Remove meatballs and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sprinkle flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Whisk in beef broth, scraping up any browned bits, then bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Stir in heavy cream and let it cook for a few minutes until thickened.
  • Return meatballs to the skillet, stirring gently to coat in the gravy; simmer together for about 10 minutes.
  • Serve with gravy drizzled over meatballs.

Notes

For juicier meatballs, consider mixing different meats or adding beef sausage. Fresh herbs can enhance the flavor, and sautéing onions in butter adds depth to the gravy.
