  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Make sure it's melted for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup white sugar Standard granulated sugar.
  • 2 pieces eggs Use large eggs for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract is recommended.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour No substitutes needed.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Ensure it's fresh for proper rising.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix well until combined.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour and baking soda.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Banana bread can be served warm or at room temperature, sliced plain or with butter. It can also be topped with nuts or powdered sugar. For storage, let it cool completely before wrapping tightly. It can be kept at room temperature for 2-3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
