  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds savory depth.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon onion powder Contributes to savory taste.
  • 1 cup 1 cup chicken broth Keeps the turkey moist.
  • to taste Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, or sage) Enhance the turkey's taste.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
  • Gently loosen the skin over the turkey breast and rub half of the buttery mixture underneath.
  • Rub the remaining buttery goodness all over the turkey’s exterior.

Cooking

  • Place the turkey in a roasting pan, breast side up, and pour chicken broth into the bottom.
  • Tuck the wings under and tie the legs together with kitchen twine.
  • Roast the turkey for 3 to 4 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), basting every 30 minutes.
  • Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.

Notes

For crispy skin, ensure the turkey is well dried. Consider adding lemon zest for extra flavor, and do not skip the basting.
