  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk Whole milk works best for richness.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla Pure vanilla extract enhances flavor.
  • 3 cups blackberries Can use fresh or frozen; thaw and drain frozen berries.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix melted butter, self-rising flour, sugar, milk, and vanilla until well combined.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  • Gently scatter the blackberries on top of the batter.

Cooking

  • Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

Notes
