Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on the counter.
  • Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add butter to the saucepan and stir until completely melted.
  • Whisk in the flour for about one minute to form a roux.
  • Gradually pour in the milk while whisking continuously.
  • Stir until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  • Add the white cheese and stir until melted.
  • Season with garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salt. Adjust to taste.

Serving

  • Serve warm with fresh tortilla chips.

Notes
