Preparation and Cooking

  • Begin by tenderizing the beef steaks if not already tenderized.
  • In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk.
  • Dip each steak in the egg mixture, letting the excess drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Carefully add the coated steaks to the skillet and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove the steaks and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot with gravy if desired.

Notes

Chicken Fried Steak is best served while hot and crispy. Pair it with mashed potatoes or a side salad for a complete meal. Ensure to store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within 3 days. To reheat, place in the oven or skillet to maintain crispiness.
