Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is softened for easier mixing.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Can be replaced with nuts or dried fruits.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the softened butter and sugar until creamy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring well.
  • If desired, mix in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool before serving.

Notes

You can serve this dessert warm or cold. It's delicious on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. For storage, keep in an airtight container; it lasts up to three days at room temperature or up to a week in the fridge.
