  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped Make sure to finely chop the mushrooms for better mixing.
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded Substitute with cheddar or mozzarella if preferred.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Substitutes include crushed crackers, oats, or cooked rice.
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 ea egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Preparation and Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped mushrooms, Swiss cheese, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  • Bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables. Drizzle with gravy or ketchup for extra flavor. To store, cool completely, wrap tightly, and refrigerate for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
