  • 1 can pink salmon Ensure the salmon is drained well.
  • 1 large egg Helps bind the patties together.
  • 1 tablespoon flour All-purpose flour or substitutes like whole wheat or almond flour can be used.
  • 1 handful crushed saltine crackers Adjust the amount to taste for crunch.
  • as needed tablespoon oil for frying Choose your favorite cooking oil.

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the canned salmon, egg, flour, and crushed saltine crackers. Use your hands to mix everything together.
  • Let the mixture rest for about 5 minutes to allow the crackers to soak up some moisture.
  • Scoop out some of the mixture and form it into small patties.

Cooking

  • Heat a generous amount of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  • Carefully place the patties into the hot oil, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the patties and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Continue frying until all patties are cooked.

Notes

For extra crispy patties, use Panko breadcrumbs instead of saltines. Add chopped onions or bell peppers for additional flavor.
